Bertha Kipfmüller (1861-1948) kämpfte Zeit ihres Lebens für die Gleichberechtigung von Mann und Frau und ebnete nachfolgenden Frauengenerationen den Weg. In einer Zeit, als Mädchen nicht das Gymnasium besuchen durften, studierte die Volksschullehrerin mit Ausnahmegenehmigung als eine der ersten Frauen an der Universität Heidelberg. 1899 wurde sie als erste Frau Bayerns zur Dr. Phil. promoviert. Sie war Gründerin mehrerer Frauenvereinigungen und wohltätiger Einrichtungen und promovierte nach ihrer Pensionierung zur Dr. jur.
