In the early 1600s, the people of Earth were forever changed when a meteor roared into its atmosphere, shattered into hundreds of pieces, and crashed all over the planet, killing thousands. And as children of the time grew into adulthood, many of them displayed strange, impossible abilities: incredible strength; inhuman speed; the ability to control elements; the power to read minds; and countless others. They were labeled witches, and slaughtered mercilessly, driving the survivors into hiding, until one especially powerful witch went on a rampage, killing half of Europe, and it took the combined efforts of the remaining witches to stop him.Afterward, new ways were found, of registering and organizing these 'super' humans, creating rules and safeguards, a system to both regulate and protect them. The World Board was established to maintain peace across the globe, and the Grand Order of Defenders (G.O.D.) alongside it, an order of super 'heroes' who maintain law and order all over the world.But not everyone regards the G.O.D. as noble champions protecting the people. They see the murder, the destruction, the malicious abuse of power, and the rampant corruption of a group too powerful to be stopped.
