Vor allem bei mehrkriteriellen Entscheidungsproblemen zwischen mehreren Alternativen sind die intellektuellen Fähigkeiten der Entscheider häufig überfordert und für Bauchentscheidungen zu groß. Deshalb wurden verschiedene Methoden entwickelt, um das Treffen schwieriger Entscheidungen zu erleichtern und mathematisch bzw. durch systematisch logische Verfahren rechtfertigen zu können. Mit Hilfe computer-gestützter Methoden kann die Dauer von Entscheidungsprozessen deutlich minimiert und in einem gewissen Maß objektiviert werden. Als gängigste Methoden für diese Entscheidungskomplexität werden die Nutzwertanalyse oder die Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)-Methode genannt.Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird das Grundmodell des AHP s vorgestellt und diskutiert. Außerdem gilt es anhand eines Praxisbeispiels die mehrkriterielle Entscheidung bei der Implementierung einer neuen Achterbahnanlage in einem fiktiven Freizeitpark die Anwendung dieser Methode zu verdeutlichen.
