Alien Cop

Being a cop in post-invasion Reno gave me something to do with my rage after the Skurgis turned my family into alien zombies. Eliminating them was half revenge, half public service, and I was damn good at it.

Good enough to get a Welfin warrior as a partner-the galaxy's best Skurgis hunters, and the only reason humans weren't extinct. Xanzin was honorable, deadly, and never once let me down.

Then a Skurgis bit me, and we were out of the shots that stopped the infection. Turns out Welfin produce the cure naturally. He didn't hesitate. Neither did I.

Now he's all I can think about, all I want. The risk of getting caught is just as thrilling as his touch. We've crossed a line we can't uncross-and under Decree 447, what we've done isn't just against regulations. It's a crime with a life sentence.

But a Skurgis Prime knows our secret, and it taunts us at every turn. Xanzin is about to snap. And a Welfin warrior who loses control is deported. Without the Welfin, Earth falls to the Skurgis.

What I didn't count on was my own government wanting it that way.
